MacGyver "Cleo Rocks"- This episode of MacGyver is a homage to "Phantom of the Opera" and shares many similarities, beginning of course with Murdoc in the part of Eric/the Phantom, Penny in the part of Christine and MacGyver in the part of Raoul. It ends differently, and there are many differences, but they share the plot of the man with the disfigured face falling in love with a woman who rejects him and turns his love back to vengeance. Some of the similarities are: Murdoc communicating with a letter/poem, Penny ripping Murdoc's "mask" off (his makeup and rubberized facial disguise), the ghostly voice in the theatre, conflict between Murdoc and the theatre owner, a choice between letting someone live or die, a white dress, and an underground lake/pool. And of course, the name "Leroux" (which in this episode's closed-captioning is spelled "LaRue")."Penny Parker's big chance in a major professional role may be only one part of a man's twisted scheme for revenge against MacGyver"..."Murdoc poses as a musical's director, using MacGyver's friend Penny Parker as a pawn in a crazed play of vengeance against MacGyver."

Married with Children- (Something Larry This Way Comes Season 9, Episode 21 Episode Number: 204) I love this episode it's where Bundy nocks out Kelly's acting partner for the play Phantom and takes his place. Bundy of course screws it up and makes a joke about the so called pipe organ in the ALW musical version.
Al: (in a play) I'll just sit here and play with my organ... walks over to a piano...this one.

Munster Cousin Phantom of the Opera
Played by: Bob Hastings (The Munsters' Revenge 1981)
Cousin Phantom likes to sing. Well, no, he LOVES to sing. He'll break into song any chance he gets, whether to entertain people trapped under bell jars, or to sing about the Halloween season. Often, though, his singing causes things to break: water glasses, eye glasses, display case windows, lanterns, diamond replicas and bell jars. Thankfully the breaking of the ball jar saved Marilyn's life. He is also somewhat interested in the movie business.
Muppet Babies-
Clips from the original silent film were interjected into the show while the
Muppets sang about the Phantom stealing their water.
The episode was called "Sing a Song of Superheros." Basically, the
water has to get shut off. And, Nanny tries to get the muppets to watch opera
with her. But, they don't want to because "opera is boring." But, they
spend the day pretending they are superheros and singing about who stole their
water (they blame it on The Phantom). At the end of the episode they learn that
they really do like opera.
The thing I remember most is Scooter and Skeeter being the "wonder
twins" and turning themselves into the form of RUBY SHOES!

Quack Pack-
Updated story of Donald Duck and his teenage nephews Huey, Duey, and Louie all trying to get along without driving each other nuts.
Eway, this episode was about, I think, Louie (not sure of the name, but he wears red all the time) gets a really nasty set of braces put on his...head! You know, those kind that some kids wear with the wires going all around their faces - well multiply that by 10 and you'll get the monstrosity Louie had to wear. You only see the dentist's face looking at him (if I remember correctly), and a scream or something then Louie runs away and hides. So, Huey and Duey go looking for him and, naturally, they find him in the sewers, playing at a huge pipe organ, wearing a gray hooded cloak. It was too funny! He was saying s tuff like "Why~Why am I doomed to live this way?! Ah, my accursed ugliness!" or something to that affect. It just cracked me up so bad. Then, Duey (or was it Huey?) moves in and tries to get a look-see, but Louie turns away just in time (a la Chaney), but finally the brother gets a hold of Louie's hood and pulls it off and then (this kills me! : D ) Louie stands up and turns and the screen goes all B&W and there's like lightning behind him, and a big ominous organ note of some kind. Huey and Duey hold each other and scream hysterically; Louie pauses, then goes "Bleeehhh!" And, again, right on cue, they were like "AAAHHH!", and he said, sarcastically, "You know, guys, the hysterical screaming is not really helping me right now." And they were like "Okay, I guess we did go overboard."
The rest of the episode is pretty standard - Louie gets to be a rock star, Huey and Duey help him get the braces off....somehow. I haven't seen this episode (or this show) in a couple of years, so I hope I remembered most of it correctly.
-Thanks Rachel

Go away like all the rest!"

Start Track Voyager-I just saw this not to long ago and I was shocked that even they had a reference. The doctor find a new species of alien who seems stupid. When the doctor starts humming the opera Puglisi the little alien seems to like it. The doctor calls him Fantoma after Phantom of the Opera because it took music to open him up.
Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles (Cartoon)
Teen Titans-features a villain and a girl who mirror the Phantom and Christine, respectively. Series synopsis - five teen superheroes (including Robin from Batman fame) all are roommates in a giant T-shaped tower and fight super villains and stuff. So, the villain I'm talking about is (can't remember his name just now) some kind of armored guy whose helmet, incidentally, looks a bit like he's wearing half a mask. He has a female protégé', who used to be one of the good guys, whom he instructs in all the ways of evil-doing, and he also has a kind of control over her in some way. Every time we think she is going to break free of him, he influences her again with his soft speaking and head-turning ideas. It's really weird, but if you do a search on You tube, you can find a music video someone made using Phantom music with scenes of this episode. That's how it finally clicked for me what an odd coincidence this w as. Never did catch the beginning of the episode, so I don't know what it's called.
-Thanks Rachel
Tiny Toons- Babs and Buster were doing an MTV like music video countdown. And, one of the segments when they were singing was "It's In His Kiss" featureed Buster sitting at a pipe organ as the Phantom of the Opera, and Babs as Christine.

Unhappily Ever After- There is a Phantom at the school

Batman The Animated Series- ok, so this is just more Phantom-like than actual Phantom. In one episode this rich snobby lady named Veronica and her foppish friend/boyfriend decide that they need something outlandish to make their next party memorable. The Penguin has just been released from Arkham and she decides that he's the perfect patsy. So she calls him up and asks him to dinner and the opera. He thinks that she is won over by his charm and ends up falling for her. However when he is at the party he finds out the truth. Incensed, he kidnaps Veronica and makes the fop bring ransom. He is keeping her in the opera house and has her strapped to the chandelier, he has the fop chained to the floor below the chandelier and plans to kill them both for their deception. But, Batman saves the day as usual and the Penguin is caught. Veronica, feeling bad about how much she hurt the Penguin comments to him as the cops are taking him away "I really was starting to grow fond of you" but he ignores her and blames society, "high society."

Star Trek: The Next Generation - season 7, ep. 16; "Thine Own Self"
"Data is sent to Barkon IV, a pre-industrial planet, on a routine mission to retrieve some radioactive material from a probe that crashed. Unfortunately, something has gone wrong. Data completely loses his memory and wanders into a village carrying a container full of the radioactive metal. He is soon befriended by Garvin and Gia, a father and his young daughter. Garvin unwittingly opens the container in hopes of finding a clue to Data's identity.
Data is taken to meet Talur, the town healer, who mistakenly deduces that he is one of a race of people rumored to live in the mountains. Gia names him "Jayden," and Garvin takes Data and his metal fragments to Skoran, the town blacksmith. Skoran has no idea what the metal might be, but offers to buy the unique-looking pieces to transform into jewelry. Data sells him half, keeping the rest as clues to his identity.
Unaware that the metal is dangerous, Garvin soon falls ill. As people buy Skoran's jewelry, the mysterious sickness spreads, and Talur, with her primitive knowledge, is unable to find a solution. Sensing that he might be able to solve the problem, Data decides to launch his own investigation, but is interrupted when the frightened townspeople blame him for causing the disease.
Data constructs a primitive lab to study the illness, and Talur offers what tools she has to help him find an explanation. Data searches for a common experience that unites all the sufferers, and stumbles on what could be the answer when Gia falls ill. Noticing that she is wearing a pendant made from his mystery metal, Data realizes that everyone who is sick has had contact with the material, and decides to study it. However, Skoran, who now shows signs of the illness, and two men burst into Data's lab and attack him, tearing away part of the skin from his face. Seeing that Data is made of metal, the horrified men flee.
The men tell Garvin and Gia what they have seen, but once they leave, Data emerges from where he has been hiding and reveals himself to Gia, who still trusts him despite his strange appearance. Having realized the metal is causing the illness, Data continues to work until he has developed a cure, and gives some to Garvin and Gia. He then heads for the town's only well to put the antidote in the water supply, sure that the townspeople will not trust him to cure them. Just as he is pouring in the last of the solution, Data is attacked by Skoran and an angry mob, who apparently kill him. Luckily, however, all of his antidote is deposited into the well.
Later, Beverly and Riker arrive on Barkon IV disguised as townspeople. They meet Gia, who sadly tells them that Data is buried by the well, while the metal that made everyone sick has been deposited in the forest. Data is retrieved and returned to the Enterprise, where he is repaired and reactivated, remembering nothing at all of his experiences."
